Citizens Advice Bracknell & District is a local, independent charity. We help people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing information and advice, and by influencing policymakers. Funded by the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead we are recruiting for a part-time Community Outreach Worker to support the rollout of Social Prescribing in Ascot.
Job title: Community Outreach Worker (part-time)
Contract: Average of 4.25 hours per week, working 7 hours every fortnight plus occasional meetings (fixed term for 11 months)
Salary: £2,494 p.a. (FTE £21,596 p.a.)
Location: Citizens Advice Bracknell & District, Ascot community venues
Reports to: Operational Managers
Purpose: As part of the outreach advice team, to provide confidential and impartial information, advice and support to clients in the Ascot area by
* Seeing clients face to face at outreach locations in Ascot, and also in their homes when necessary, to provide comprehensive and holistic advice, information and support; and
* Liaising with other local organisations and services to ensure clients referred into and out of our service receive an excellent joined-up service.
With demonstrable effectiveness in previous roles, you must be well organised and have excellent interpersonal skills. The ability to relate to clients and their issues, and to research and explain the options available to them is essential. Working with partner organisations, such as the Social Prescribing team, GP surgery staff and other local services will be important to both promote and receive feedback about the service; you must be a good communicator and team player. The ability to use your initiative (within set parameters) and good IT skills are also key.
